FAQ's about our juices

  • What is a cold-pressed juice?
Cold-pressed juice is a convenient and beneficial way to enjoy raw fruits and vegetables. Using a hydraulic press, the nectar of fruits and vegetables are extracted directly from the pulp. Unlike blending or grinding, cold-pressing juice won’t denature or degrade fruits and vegetables by exposing produce to unnecessary heat and friction. This means you enjoy the most concentrated amount of vital nutrients and enzymes.
  • What is HPP? Why you should never HPP?
High pressure processing (HPP) is a cold pasteurization technique that subjects liquid and solid foods to pressures between 100 and 800 mpa. Many juice producers use this technique to extend their products’ shelf life by inactivating bad bacteria (sometimes as much as 10 times longer than non-HPP’d juice). While this process inactivates the bad bacteria, it also inactivates the good bacteria. We believe that this vegetative flora and bacteria play a critical role in digestion and are needed to support proper nutrition. Choosing HPP is about supply chain challenges and profits – not about nutrition. At Juiceaholics, we are focused on providing the most nutritious juices on the market and HPP is counteractive to that, so we keep our juices 100% raw and filled with lives enzymes which your body loves.
  • Why juice?
Drinking juice is the most natural and quickest way to increase your consumption of raw fruit and vegetables. Our modern diet, which often consists of convenient, processed food, doesn’t give us all the nutrients we need. This results in poor nutrition, obesity and high incidence rates of disease. 95% of vitamins and enzymes our bodies require can be found in the juice of raw produce. Drinking the right juice is a better, more natural alternative to taking supplements and multivitamins as it is more efficiently absorbed into our system. Research shows that people who drink juice daily have greater energy, glowing complexions, high performing immune systems and a reduced risk of disease. As a result, they live happier, more active and balanced lifestyles.
  • How do I prepare for my juice cleanse?
In the days leading up to a cleanse, follow our recommendations and avoiding certain fatty foods, processed items, sugars, alcohol and heavy meats to prepare your body to get the most out of your cleanse. If you tend to have a healthy diet, eating organic fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, organic meats and eggs and drinking 8 glasses of water a day, with the occasional glass of wine, you should be fine doing a 3-day preparation.
